Generator - How To Charge the Yellow Box

If you have a Yellow power cord coming out of your Yellow Box:
  1. If you don’t have a Yellow power cord coming out of your Yellow Box, you must have a Separate battery charger, see heading Separate Battery Charger below.

  2. Turn Eco mode OFF on your Generator.

  3. If it's daylight hours, turn off the PV breaker.

  4. Turn off Main Disco breaker on AC Panel.

  5. IF the Yellow box has turned off: (if not, skip to 6)

    1. Start Generator - Make sure Eco Mode is off on Generator!

    2. Plug Generator into the yellow cord attached to Yellow Box.

    3. Turn OFF the power switch on the bottom of Yellow Box, count to 10.

    4. Turn on the power switch on bottom of Yellow Box

    5. If you are charging, you will see “Bypass” on the yellow box screen.

  6. Plug generator into yellow cord that goes into the inverter (use extension cord if you need).

  7. Start Generator - Make sure Eco Mode is off on Gen!

  8. If you are charging successfully, this is what your inverter screen will look like:

  1. When done charging (typically a few hours), Turn Off Generator.

  2. Turn PV breaker AND Main Disco breaker ON.

  3. Test that you have power in the house. If you don't:

    1. Check that the Main Disco breaker is On in your AC Breaker panel. If it was on, continue

    2. Turn Off the power switch on the underside of the Yellow Box and count to 10.

    3. Turn On the power switch on the underside of the Yellow Box.

    4. You should have power in the house.

If you have a separate Battery Charger:
  1. If you have a separate battery charger, it will be a ChargeVerter or a PowerMax.

  2. If it's daylight hours, turn off the PV breaker.

  3. Turn Eco mode OFF on your Generator.

  4. Plug yellow cord into your generator via an extension cord (if needed).

  5. Turn the Generator on.

  1. If you are charging, you will see your battery % Rising. (or voltage rising).

  2. When you are done charging, turn off Generator.

  3. Turn the PV breaker back on.

  4. See picture above to know if you are actually charging batteries.
